Co-hosts of The View, a brief overview!

The View

The View is an American talk show that broadcast journalist Barbara Walters conceived. A multi-generational panel of women is shown who discuss the day’s hot topics such as entertainment and sociopolitical news. The panel also conduct interviews with politicians and celebrities—the show 1st released on August 11, 1997. In ABC TV Studio 23 in New York City and 2014, it shifted to ABC Broadcast Center in New York City. Now due to Covid, the series is broadcast remotely.

Co-hosts of The View –

Season 1 – Season 10 – It had four co-hosts when the show started, name Meredith Vieira as moderator, Barbara Walters, Debbie Matenopoulos, Star Jones. Joy Beha acted as a host when Barbara was not available initially but later became permanent host. In December 1988, Debbie left the show, and Lisa Ling (broadcast journalist) was brought as co-host in 1999. But she left the show in 2002. Elisabeth Hasselbeck replaced Lisa on November 24, 2003. Vieira shared that she was going to the show on April 6, 2006. Star Jones, in April 2006, announced that she is leaving the show and the decision is not her, but the producers do not renew her contract. On April 28, 2006, it was shared that for the 10th season, Rosie O Donnell would co-hosting the show, and she left the show in 2007.

Season 11 – Season 18 – Whoopi Goldberg would replace Rosie for season 11, Walters announced on August 1, 2007. Sherri Shepherd (actress) joined as a permanent co-host. Hasselbeck went on maternity leave for almost two years. During that time, rotating co-host filled the placed. Walters underwent open-heart surgery and took a break for few months, and again joined in season 14. On March 7, 2013, it was announced that Behar was leaving the show at the end of season 16. At the same time, Hasselbeck also revealed that she is leaving the show. Walters would retire in May 2014, was announced. Rosie Perez (actress) joined permanently on season 18.

Season 19 – Season 24 – Behar returned in season 19, and Candace Cameron Bure (actress)and Paula Faris (broadcast journalist) joined the show. There were eight rotating co-hosts (Behar, Raven-Symoné, Goldberg, Faris, Bure, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin ). Raven-Symoné, on October 27, said she would be leaving the show. Bure, on December 8, said she is leaving the show. In Season 21, Faris, Hostin, Bila, Behar, Haines returned to the show. Bila shared that she would leave the show on September 18, 2017. Meghan McCain joined the show. On March 12, 2018, Haines joined back from the break. Faris left in July. Abby Huntsman (Broadcast journalist) joined in season 22, and Ana Navarro joined as the weekly guest co-host.
