Oscars 2021: All what we know till now about the nominations in different categories !

The 93rd Academic Awards (Oscars) ceremony, presented by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This award ceremony will honor the best films released between January 1, 2020, and February 28, 2021. This year it will happen at Dolby Theater in Hollywood  Los Angeles, California, on April 25. Originally this award ceremony was planned for 28 February but got delayed due to the pandemic. Now eligibility period for feature films to be extended through February 28.

To account for films that were planned for theatrical release but which were ultimately released directly to the video the eligibility criteria have already been modified. This is the 4th time the Academic Awards have been propounded.

Nominations for Academic Awards (Oscars) 2021

Best Pictures – Nomadland, The Father, The Trial of the Chicago 7, One Night in Miami, Mank, Minari, Da 5 Bloods, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Soul, Judas, and the Black Messiah.

Best Directors – Chloé Zhao (Nomadland), David Fincher (Mank), Aaron Sorkin (The Trial of the Chicago 7), Shaka King (Judas and the Black Messiah), and Spike Lee (Da 5 Bloods).

Best Actress – Andra Day (The United States vs. Billie Holiday), Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a Woman), Viola Davis ( Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Carey Mulligan ( Promising Young Woman), and Frances McDormand (Nomadland).

Best Supporting Actress – Amanda Seyfried  (Mank), Youn Yuh-Jung  (Minari), Olivia Colman (The Father), Maria Bakalova (Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm), and Ellen Burstyn (Pieces of a Woman).

Best Actor – Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal), Gary Oldman (Mank), Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods), and Anthony Hopkins (The Father).

Best Supporting Actor – Daniel Kaluuya (Judas and the Black Messiah), Paul Raci (Sound of Metal), Sacha Baron Cohen (The Trial of the Chicago 7), David Straithairn (Nomadland), and Leslie Odom, Jr. (One Night in Miami).

Best Original Screenplay – The Trial of the Chicago 7, Promising Young Woman, Da 5 Bloods, Mank, and Soul.

Best Production Design – Donald Graham Burt (Mank), Cristina Casali (The Personality History of David Copperfield ), Jim Bissell (The Midnight Sky), Page Buckner (One Night in Miami), David Crank (News of the World), Jamie Walker McCall (The Prom), Mark Ricker (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Nathan Crowley (Tenet), and Peter Francis (The Father).
